ARRL VHF Sweepsteaks this weekend June 13 - 14, 2020!
« on: June 09, 2020, 1902 UTC »
Good practice for the following weekend's Field Day,   https://contests.arrl.org/junvhf/   Now, can we hope for decent "E" and Tropo propagation for this? Rarely... Usually the Monday afterwards are when the VHF / UHF bands open up.
I was asked, yet another weird question, of how I would like to be buried, when I finally bite the big one. The answer was actually pretty easy. Face-down, like a certain historical figure in the late 1980's, (I will not mention who, but some of you will get it, and that's enough.) Why??? It would be a burial that will satisfy everyone: (1) My enemies will say that it will show me where to go. (2) On the same point, I can have my enemies kiss my butt. (3) It will temporarily give someone a place to park a bicycle. See??? A WIN / WIN for everyone.

Got my ticket the same day as the ct. Worked coast to coast 6m ssb with 3 watts, neat stuff. Otherwise the band was dead save for the few locals.

10 and 6 have been doing pretty good for the last month or so.   Hopefully that keeps up!
Default RX location is Wisconsin using various wire antennas. Other RX will be noted.

VHF High and UHF were wide open to my south this morning towards the VA and SE KY borders. The country bumpkin on 96.5FM Williamson, WV boomed in right over a local 96.5FM translator. And south is my geographically very worst direction. Will we have that this weekend? Murphy's Law says, NO!

At 2246 UTC 6m is dead here.

2m and 70cm as well.

It will likely be a bust unless something happens overnight or in the morning. Current DXMaps though shows a lot of DX between the East coast and Europe. Fingers crossed.
