I like these kind of articles!

And... btw... saw that logo leftdown corner page 46?

That's the logo of Radio Channel292 in their Pirate years!

Does anyone know if the situation in Italy is still the same? It would be very interesting if it is.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

It was in the early part of the last decade, I don't know about now. The Italians I know of are into podcasting these days. Where's Giovanni
Bellabarba when he's needed?

BTW, Greece is wide open for pirates, especially on MW and they run a ton of power.

I know about the Greek MW pirates. They are very interesting and play some nice music.

Last I heard the situation has changed a bit in recent years.
Low power stations are now permitted to broadcast without a licence.
I don't  know what the restrictions are though.

Thanks for the info, Brian. I've got a friend who teaches media studies at an Italian university. They've been doing some podcasting and thinking about starting a radio station. I'll pass this along, he's in a position to find out the current regulations.
