New England Accent Pescadores 6925 USB 1710 UTC
« on: June 02, 2012, 1718 UTC »
Talking about the cod and haddock, with an F this and F that thrown in. Pretty strong signal.  A pirate op could have fun firing up on 6925 now and join in :-)

Also some more pescadores on 6959.5 USB.

I heard the English speakings guys on 6959.5 USB. The accents were highly suggestive of boats out of Gloucester, Massachusetts or possibly Portsmouth, New Hampshire or coastal Maine. The accents change as you go up though, and these guys sounded like Gloucester guys to me. I know the accent well. We've heard similar operations before.

The 6925 USB crew were back around 1615z. I caught the tail end of their conversation, in English.

Warning: colorful language. This is distinctly not the crew that was on 6959.5 earlier. The 6959.5 guys are from the Boston area. These guys, I'm not sure where they are based out of.

Sounded like Spanish, but not the Mexican or Cuban accents I hear most often in Texas.  Maybe Portuguese or other, I'm not sure.  Only word I could copy was "pregunta" (question).  I get a whole different set of pesques here, including Brazilians speaking Portuguese with what sounds most like a German accent (usually 7000 LSB).

The "Dog Fish Mafia" were back tonight. This time on 6321.8 USB at around 0011z on 6/4/2012. This was the same crew on 6925 USB yesterday. They were all (accented) English tonight. Here's a clip:

I had someone who knows Portuguese listen to it. He described it as Portuguese from Portugal, the Azores, or an Azores descendant fishermen in Massachusetts. So that fits right in with what we thought.
