At 2317 barely detect weak carrier in ssb mode,
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

It's almost certainly the Chinese Jamming Service against the Sound of Hope.

I'll chime in. Sound of Hope has a low power signal and China always uses high power jamming against it, almost always CNR1 in my experience. Nobody should ever report hearing Sound of Hope unless they can demonstrate that they positively identified it as such. If they can't, the only safe assumption is CNR1 jamming.

Sound of Hope does have a livestream, so one can check that and compare it to the audio they're hearing. It helps if your browser includes a translation plugin or extention.
