CHLO 530 AM Brampton ON 2215 UTC 29 Nov 2020
« on: November 29, 2020, 2227 UTC »
A great signal this evening, their Italian program, with lots of music.  I checked their schedule, and unfortunately they no longer seem to have a Polish program.

Being that low in FREQ, they have an incredible footprint. In the daytime, you can hear them all the way past the Elmira / Corning / Ithaca area.
I was asked, yet another weird question, of how I would like to be buried, when I finally bite the big one. The answer was actually pretty easy. Face-down, like a certain historical figure in the late 1980's, (I will not mention who, but some of you will get it, and that's enough.) Why??? It would be a burial that will satisfy everyone: (1) My enemies will say that it will show me where to go. (2) On the same point, I can have my enemies kiss my butt. (3) It will temporarily give someone a place to park a bicycle. See??? A WIN / WIN for everyone.

Good signal in here on the car radio just before dawn but with an annoying heterodyne.
AFAIK, they are the only AM broadcaster on 530.
Upon arriving home, went down to the shack and got out the CCrane2E and was able to
separate the whistle from the station by turning the radio.  Placed CHLO in the null and peaked
the whistle northwest-southeast of me.  Did some quick internet research and there appears to be
a 10 watt TIS in Lansing MI on 530.  Based on my quick DF that would make sense.
Unable however to hear any voice from the possible TIS.
