7040 kHz - 5 second bursts, 150 kHz bandwidth
« on: March 14, 2021, 0207 UTC »
I'm familiar with most common amateur digital modes, but tonight I'm hearing (a new?) one on 40m from several stations that doesn't appear to be represented at SigIdWiki. Audio at https://www.lutins.org/temp/7042.mp3; waterfall thus:

That is the fairly normal PSK-63 digital mode (maybe slightly over-driven).  7040 khz is the standard 40m frequency for these in IARU Region 1.

Here is the decoded text from your audio recording....

Excellent! Not sure how that one got by me, as it's not all that new. I've used several applications that support that mode, so I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
