Nowhere Radio 6974.9 AM 2322 UTC 11 Jun 2021
« on: June 11, 2021, 2323 UTC »
23:22 UTC - UNID just starting to fade in. Actual freq 6974.9, weak and mostly unreadable;
23:40 UTC - A storm is starting to roll into my area and I am losing signal strength rapidly on this one. Geomagnetic forecast for the next 6 hours: unsettled + active intervals;
00:09 UTC - Station ID: "Welcome to Nowhere Radio, broadcasting from somewhere in the ...". signal strength is improving along with several deep fades;
01:00 UTC - Signal is still hanging on but only by a thread;
02:00 UTC - Still going on strong. Signal has improved over the past hour;
02:55 UTC - Going into a deep fade out period. Signal is almost gone;
03:04 UTC - Broadcast abruptly ended. Presumed to be the end of broadcast.

Pretty good signal tonight. Not sure how to describe the genre of the music, perhaps new age.

SINPO=13111.

2343- Faint metal or ethnic (can't tell) music under the noise.

Now SINPO=34333, big improvement in signal clarity and strength here
0154- Repeating rhythmic reggae instrumental music.
0157- "Heya" by Ape Skull. Sort of new age/alt, with 60s psychedelic influences.

Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Carrier and marginal modulation of music at 0149z. SINPO 15311. A difficult copy with a SDR, 148' LoG, and headphones. It is there, but not enough to clearly ID the music.

Thanks for the broadcast! :) Hopefully propagation and/or my local noise will improve for the next show.
