WTCR 6925 & 3433 USB 2/8/09
« on: February 08, 2009, 1144 UTC »
2/8/09 - Propagation continues to be erratic as several listeners reported widely varying signals for reception of the usually booming WTCR signal.  Here in N. Central Texas was good to fair on 6925, fair to poor on 3433; others reported the reverse.  The usual good quality audio.

6925 USB, 0140-0225 UTC: Opening fanfare, WTCR ID, The Who "Behind Blue Eyes" and "Eminence Front"; Fine Young Cannibals "Good Thing"; John Hiatt "Paper Thin"; Stones "Tumbling Dice"; Wallflowers "Sleepwalker"; Spin Doctors "Two Princes"; Sarah MacLachlan "Building a Mystery".  Signal vanished after this tho' other listeners reported continuing to hear WTCR.
SINPO - 33412, good signal peaks occasionally, alternated between fluttering fades while remaining audible and deep fades to inaudible.
0154z: WTCR female voice ID
0212z: WTCR ID
(N. Central TX - Palstar R30C w/ indoor passive fugloop antenna)

mp3 edited to best 7 minutes I managed to catch between 0150-0215 UTC: http://www.mediafire.com/?hwnnqztcldn

3433 USB, 0249-0349 UTC: Repeat of same program with one additional song at end, guitar instrumental by Carlos Santana.  Only audible outdoors with portable, fair signal with same fluttering fades noted earlier.
