Heard this bangin' in on the drive to work, after 9PM EST an EDM Espanol station. Sounded really good, but didn't get an ID, or even a promo. And, that's with AM splatter from the flame throwers either side on 1040 and 1060. So, who 'dat? And, checkin' 1020KDKA, it was seriously getting bowled-over by a station jammin' folk tunage, and must have been +/- a few hundred Hertz off FREQ, since I heard a constant tone in there. Huh... KDKA usually has full dominance at night here in SW WV, and I can just hear them on GND-wave in the winter. That was different.
Recently, a co-worker quizzed me on, "What would happen if you were to apply reverse polarity to the Energizer Bunny?". Having no idea, I asked, "What would happen?". The answer is he'd keep coming and coming and coming...

Hey Dood,

KDKA puts in a “ moderate “ signal here , but not often great.I can RF null most 1010/1030 problems quite well or clean up audio in QRF -1 filter(s).  ( I have 106 KW effective WBZ in my “back yard “ at 8 miles).

The real issue is not QRM- it’s just that ‘DKA is not really big here that often. They use a 50 KW single tower at a good distance.Good, but not huge.

I use 1020 as a test frequency for home brew rigs etc. If it gets KDKA = a good rig.

Had it been a couple years ago, I would have thought WEPN in New York which was the ESPN Desportes flagship.  It seems to me the only logical choice becomes WVXX in Norfolk, VA.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WVXX

The next option would be a Mexican station that I couldn't pick up on the left coast while out there - XEG

WVXX in E. VA seems the logical source as well, since their +300W ERP array is pointed right at me at night. https://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/finder?sr=Y&s=C&call=wvxx&nav=home     As far as KDKA getting bowled over here? Must be a Summer time thang, in winter, that should be totally dominant, again.
