8192 beacon report

Time to give the 8Mhz beacons some love: using the KPH SDR to listen in the 8192 khz range, I can hear the Marin Ditter's 2nd harmonic at 8194.6 - as usual. Also two beacons that are not in the HFU beason list (don't know if they have been reported yet) a ditter at 8177.8 and a slow dasher at 8191.9.
Occasionally another slow dasher rises up above the noise at 8192.05.

Thanks for the report reminding me of the 8192 band!

Nothing local, but on the WO7I KiwiSDR, I can receive the Marin Ditter's 2nd and the 8191.1 slow dasher. Also a roughly once per second ditter on 8193.70.

I'll have to try locally at other times of the day and see if anything turns up.

......a slow dasher at 8191.9

I suspect it is the second harmonic of Coxie on 4095.9

From the pictures that used to be around, the transmitter appeared to not have much if any filtering for eliminating harmonics. 

All in all, great propagation for a harmonic radiating out of a poor antenna.

Thanks for the ID on that 8191.9 slow dasher -- yep, it's the 2nd harmonic of Coxie. Both were coming in well yesterday and I was able to view them side-by-side on separate waterfall displays (using KPH and KFS SDRs).

Besides the Marin Ditter and Coxie, it makes me wonder if any of the other ~8192 beacons are actually the 2nd harmonic of a 4 MHz beacon.

Good job on matching the two signals up!

I’d noticed that Coxie has recently jumped up in signal strength. That led me to guess that it was the source of the 8 MHz Dasher.

Somewhere I read that the Desert Whooper has a low pass filter on the output that knocks the 2nd harmonic 40+ dB down. Whenever Windy starts working normally we could see if it has much of a 2nd harmonic leaking out.
