XYZ SSTV 6925 11/24/12
« on: November 24, 2012, 1622 UTC »
While I was away for Thanksgiving, I left the receiver on & had two SSTV images from XYZ on my computer when I returned home last night. One said Happy ------- de XYZ" and the other was simply "XYZ." I didn't see that anyone else had logged this one, so I felt I should post it. No idea if any programming went along with the images. I think the timestamp on the one was 0245, but the clock on my recording computer doesn't keep time. I guess this is the same station that was last on with digital modes on 1/18/09?

Thanks!

Recorder catch:

6925 USB SIO 232-333

Fair to good signal - also caught these two SSTV images and what I'm guessing is XYZ sending morse (possibly QSO w/BOR?), then switching to Hellschreiber mode(?) at some point, couldn't get a decode on the digital mode.

Could hear a faint SSTV tx before XYZ'z, but too weak for decode

Thanks XYZ - good to see/hear from your station again! :)

Copied here, SDR recording.

Do you recall about what time was the Hellschreiber / digital mode, Sealord?

It's 1:27 on my mp3 or around 01:35z-01:36z - the morse is pretty fast which was throwing me a bit trying to discern what part was what, but at the 01:27 mark I can definitely tell it's something else.

I used my last recording of XYZ as a guide for the decode setup on this one, but I couldn't pull any discernable image text.

It does sound like Hellschreiber on your recording, but I could not get any valid decode.
