Unknown Ale Frequencies
« on: January 09, 2022, 1914 UTC »
I hope I am posting in the right category:
Over the past several month I have found HF frequencies that have Ale Soundings when searching across the hf bands and I have not found any information on these. They are all USB and the frequencies I am posting could be off +/- a few khz's. These frequencies I have heard during the day and night, I dont think I have picked up any audio on any of them, I thought I would post them to see if anyone had any information.
All IN KHZ USB
5330,6809,6994,8038,8624,8899,8926,8936,11109,11181,11227,11427,12217,12877,14777,14872,14929,15045,15092,19313, AND 21867.
I have been picking these up from Fort Erie Ontario Canada using 100ft of antenna wire out on my fourth floor balcony facing North using a SDRplay RSPdx and SDRuno software.

Some audio or calls would help. US mil and gov can and do fire up wherever they wanna, HAMs are secondary users in the rf spectrum so don't be surprised when HFGCS or even SIPR fires up on 3905kHz..

99.99% of the time I hear an ALE transmission, there is no subsequent voice traffic.

If you post the ALE decodes, as Josh suggested, we might be able to ID some of them.

I am pretty sure 6809 for example is used by FEMA.

BTW, if you're looking for an ALE decoder, I've got you covered  :) http://blackcatsystems.com/software/black_cat_ale_decoder.html

I will concur with Chris with regards to the user of 6809. I previously logged this station in August 2021 with a FEMA callsign.

31 AUGUST 2021 6809.0 kHz USB, B&W antenna

Hugh Stegman maintains a fairly updated list which I regularly contribute to when I find something new not listed on his page.
