Interesting. Were the numbers alternating with a digital mode?

No problem. I asked because I know of only two numbers stations that involve YL reading numerals in SS, and neither use that frequency nor broadcast at that time. The one that's readily copyable where you are is HM01 from Cuba, and it alternates numbers with a digital mode that sends a document with encrypted text that is supposed to be the message for whomever is supposed to receive it. The other broadcasts only once a week from a location in Russia's far east (early Sundays UTC) and is generally copyable only in the western part of North America - it's supposed that it's intended for recipients in South America and can be heard down the Pacific. Anyway, it doesn't sound like you heard either station. It would be interesting if you ever hear it again. Please report it here if you do.

Hi.

YL reading numbers in SS  1215

In such cases it is much appreciated to add a recording to your post. This will make it much easier to identify a station.

Thanks in advance.

Interesting. If at all possible, the next time you hear something, try to get a recording that can be shared here. Thanks.

With any respect: Please add more details than "...a preamble type..." What is a preamble type?

And as MDK2 stated please add a recording.

I figured I would try reception this morning (Jan 17, 2022) as Yaphank is just across the Sound (Queens native here) from me.  Weather is fairly miserable here, rain/sleet/snow and all snow just north.  First tuned in at 1115 utc and had it on until 1220 utc, nothing of significance other than brief odd electronic sounds at 1142 utc.  I have the opportunity to try a couple times this week.  I'll post if I receive anything of note.

Tecsun H501x (broadcast received on this unless noted), Zenith T/O G500, Zenith T/O Royal 7000, Emerson AR-176, Zenith 8S154, T/O 7G605 (Bomber), Tecsun PL-600, Tecsun PL-880, Zenith 5S320, Realistic DX 160 using 40 feet of copper wire.  With apologies to Senator Gramm for his thoughts on firearms, "I have more radios than I need but not as many as I want."

YL reading numbers in SS  1215

Are you sure it was SS?  The reason I ask is that S06s was active on that frequency at that time and date.  This would be the 175 schedule, every Thursday with frequencies changing seasonally, in January, February, November and December, 1200 UTC on 12155 kHz USB and 1210 UTC on 10920 kHz USB.

Rude?

Sorry, mate, but I only tried to help. My English is not that good (as it should be), but calling me rude is more than just impolite.

If my help isn't wanted say it but don't bother me with things like calling me rude!

Do you have any idea about this topic?

As tiNG suggested, adding a link to an audio recording is often quite useful, and most of the time will allow the transmission to be positively identified very quickly.
