01:33 UTC - Loud and clear with rock music;
01:35 UTC - SSTV. Too noisy for a good decode. First image looks like a pirate ship and an electric guitar. The second image is a repeat of the first but transmitted in Scottie DX mode. Still too noisy for a clean decode and the image is too complex and colourful to pull out of the noise. I believe one work above the guitar is "Joe";
01:42 UTC - Return to music.

4185 usb  sinpo 32543

SSTV at 0135 UTC and 0137 UTC were the same better second Tx was better. The SSTV looks like a CD liner note for Joe Satriani live in San Francisco, presumably followed by Joe Satriani.

at 0148 noise is overwhelming and fading out barely copiable.

Rx direct into St Louis Mo with Flex 3000 and discone at 20 agl.

Not bad signal down on west coast of FL, relatively steady S7. The funky metal guitar is "out there"  8)

Was that a "secret message" being sent in Morse code in the background under the last selection before the SSTV image?

CORN DESERT OUTPOST 4185 USB 0130 UTC 12 FEB 2022 (Was UNID)
« Reply #12 on: February 12, 2022, 0255 UTC »
Making it into Central lower Michigan decent signal, I'm going to give him a 35443+.

But playing music and trying to send a SSTV at the same time at 0250 just didn't work. The SSTV of Joe Satriani's "Live in San Francisco" cassette cover came over well before then, but SSTV doesn't 'play well' with other audio at the same time -- maybe that was a 'whoops'?

I am presuming the CW and the one SSTV was the ID? He seems to be just playing this album/tape....

DXing *either* from:
MI -- South Central Lower Michigan with a 25 m randomwire and a LOT of local noise!
or
MI2 -- the tip of Michigan's Thumb with a 100 metre longwire and much quieter conditions.  Radios can be either an SPR-4 or IC-R71A or SDRplay

QSLs appreciated! radioguy73@gmail.com

Catching nice guitar solos amidst a lot of noise. The signal is getting past local QRM that should be wiping out everything. Sometimes it's a beautiful signal. Thanks for the show.
All logs made from my own SDRs, boatanchors, and antennas
