Wednesday Morning 2 MHz Report 9 Jan 2013
« on: January 09, 2013, 1517 UTC »
I tried recording 2000-2200 kHz. All I heard was A, which is common here. The 2008, 2018, and 2025 kHz beacons were not heard.

2008 and 2018 are very low-power (below 10 mW), 2025.16 "Inyo Dark Ditter" is 1.5 watts, so it might be the next obvious choice for long-DX rather than the lower freq. beacons.  The "IDD" goes on at dusk and off sometime in the wee hours when the battery goes below 11 volts.

No copy of IDD this morning, but I'll focus on this one when I decide to look for 2 MHz beacons. Perhaps I need to check earlier, if as you said it is going off the air early due to a low battery voltage.
