I've never heard anything that sounds like this before. Does anybody care to speculate? Currently transmitting with a VERY strong signal.

Hearing 2.5 second long tone bursts - mostly evenly spaced but not always - with some longer pauses - on 6942 USB 11-10-18 0400UTC.  SINPO 35343 into SE Wisconsin.  Beacon?  Just tuning around with a Sangean 909X and 66ft end fed swl antenna.

Not a beacon, its the tell-tale sound of the Link-11 system (military datalink protocol) used on the HF and UHF bands.
