 @ 14:20 UTC , Oriental dialect.    Probably Firedrake - Signal too strong for SOH.   Rare reception on this frequency.

SINPO: 3-3-3-4-3 on the R75 with preamp one engaged
Primary: Yaesu FRG-7700  Secondary: ICOM R75 Tertiary: Grundig  750. Tecsun PL-990X, Tecsun PL-880 . Malahit DSP SDR V3,  Alpha Delta  SWL Sloper antenna. : Also, 1940 Mantola am/sw tube. CountyComm GP-5/SSB hand held, Tecsun PL-380 ,et al.  QTH: EAST TROY WI  USA.  Sea Level: + 320 meters .  75 miles (but not far enough) NNW of Chicago

Firedrake has no speech. It’s just loud brassy symbols and stuff crashing.

And SOH isn't going to carry  1 KW 7432 miles to QTH , daytime or otherwise.  All normal schedule sources list only these 2 broadcasters.  Harmonics seem to come up empty.  So its official - I'm baffled.

Nothing to be baffled about. It’s CRI or CNR used as a jammer. That’s a long known fact

China's preferred method of jamming is to run CNR1 at massive power (I'm assuming, anyway, because usually the jamming transmissions are much stronger at my QTH than their nonjamming broadcasts). The Firedrake is actually pretty scarce, comparatively. Usually they use that when jamming Radio Free Asia. But SOH is always jammed by CNR1, and they like to use it against RTI and VOA as well.
