Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using a Hermes Lite 2 with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet.

Years ago, that was a nice Christmas gift to me. I still have the printed book, and the later one with the CD of station ID's. All in all, great reads to have in your collection.
Over the years I have to admit coming up with some no-so good ideas for products. The Skipping Cassette Decks, (In case you missed record skipping.), never took. Water Resistant Lollipops never caught on either, even though you could enjoy those in the rain and in the shower. Then, there's the Anatomically Correct Mrs. Butterworth Syrup Dispenser. (Just guess where the syrup came out of.) Nope, no takers.

It was the write-up of The Crystal Ship (pp. 128-129) in this book by Andrew Yoder, which many years later became the major catalyst for me to revive 'The Crystal Ship' in 2004, 20 years after we had left the airwaves (mostly because our only transmitter had broken down).

Early in 2004, I had been doing some research online when the sudden whim possessed me to Google the name of the station--- not really expecting to find anything, as the station had predated public use of the internet by a good number of years--- but I was shocked to find a number of references to The Crystal Ship pirate, and most notably, excerpts from this book with several paragraphs about us in the section on 'political pirates'!  I had been disconnected from the pirate movement since about 1985.... but the idea that what we had done as 19-21 year-olds had not been entirely forgotten by the world began to nag at me until I had re-caught 'the pirate radio bug' and succumbed to it, to much greater effect than before, as it turned out...

So Andy Yoder---  it's really mostly your fault that The Crystal Ship ever came back at all...

;D  Thanks Andy!
