Cobra 29LTD Chrome 40 channel AM CB radio installation example. 40 AM CB channels 26.965 MHz to 27.405 MHz 4 watts AM carrier power out of the box. The Cobra 29 is one of the most common CB radios on the market and has been sold since the 1970s at least. There are, and have been, dozens of different versions of the Cobra 29 on the market. The 29 LTD was sold for many years as the standard version of the radio until the release of the redesigned Cobra 29LX series.
This particular example is set (tuned) to the road channel or the trucker channel - CB channel 19 - 27.185 MHz AM.
Because of the ubiquity of the Cobra 29 series CB radios, there are numerous modifications available for these radios, including higher transmit power, receiver performance improvements, additional channels or frequency expansion modifications and kits (for example, the Viagra 120 channel low/mid/high band kit, the Lescomm 120 channel kit, the DigiMax Lite channel kits, Expo kits and several others), transmitted audio improvements and more.
