"Old buzzard" is slang terminology referring to elderly ham radio operators. It is frequently associated with the AM window around 3885 KHz. To make an "old buzzard" transmission is to transmit, usually for many minutes or more, and on topics including but not limited to failing health and "the old days". Additionally, "old buzzard" has been extended to refer to equipment. For example, a really old transmitter or receiver could be described as "old buzzard". The term is frequently utilized by Timtron.
