Thailand only...known as "245 VHF" "245 CB" "CB 245" or other similar names. Extremely popular in Thailand, especially in urban areas. Popular with taxi and car services in Bangkok.

Radios must have red cases per Thai law. 80 channels, straight channel numbering sequence. 245-245.9875 MHz, 245.0000 MHz to 245.9875 MHz. CTCSS, DCS and other selective calling or squelch systems are legal and heavily used. Narrow band FM mode, 12.5 kHz channel steps.

Heavily used by taxi companies, delivery services, hobbyists, security companies, etc. Given the proliferation of these radios, there are also indications that they are used by criminal elements and organized gangs for drug dealer lookouts and similar purposes (FRS is reportedly used for these purposes in the United States and elsewhere). 245 MHz CB is much more popular for consumer level users as well as professional business users compared to the regular 27 MHz CB and 78 MHz VHF CB.

Thailand apparently has 26-27MHz CB - popular with fishing fleets, freebanders, ham operators and DXers, a mid-band VHF 78 MHz band service from 78.0000 MHz to 78.9875 MHz (12.5 kHz steps, 10 watt power limit and radios must be yellow) as well. Estimates of users above one million, especially in larger urban areas. According to reports, 27 MHz HF CB and 78 MHz VHF CB are niche services and 245 MHz VHF CB is by far the most commonly used personal radio service in Thailand and neighboring areas.

Reports indicate that significant amounts of simplex and duplex repeater systems exist on these frequencies, in addition to fixed base stations with high gain base station antennas. The majority of users appear to use portable handheld radios and mobile radios mounted in vehicles for simplex purposes.

80 channels 245.0000 to 245.9875 MHz 12.5 kHz steps. FM mode only (narrowband FM, aka NBFM or NFM, likely 11K0F3E, 11K2F3E or similar emission). Many radios can easily be modified to cover 240-270 MHz or similar frequency ranges. Most 245 MHz CB radios include a channel display and frequency display, or offer the end user the option of switching from channel display, frequency display or dual channel/frequency display.

As of the late 2010s (2018-2019, into 2020), entry level dual band VHF/UHF equipment such as the Baofeng UV-5R series are available in tri-band or three-band models, generally covering 220-225 MHz, switchable to 220 MHz - 260 MHz, 220 MHz - 270 MHz or similar ranges. Others are explicitly sold as tri-band radios that cover 245 MHz in addition to the standard 136-174 MHz VHF and 400-470 MHz or 400-520 MHz UHF bands. Quad-band radios are available that cover the 350-390 MHz UHF band of the 350-400 MHz UHF band as well.
