VHF Norway Hunting Radio

VHF band - 138-144 MHz band, just below the 2-meter amateur radio band. 6 channels, FM voice.

Norway's version of the VHF CB hunting radio services such as 155 MHz Swedish hunting radio - JAKT Radio 155MHz as well as similar VHF CB or license-free VHF services such as MURS, the VHF LADD channels, 245 VHF or Freenet.

5 watt power limit. Often used with handheld radios. The higher power output combined with superior propagation offered by VHF makes this service more attractive to hunters compared to lower-power UHF license free services such as PMR446 and KDR444. Often Nordic radios will including the 155 MHz band hunting frequencies as well as the channels below:

  • Channel 1 - 143.900 MHz
  • Channel 2 - 139.400 MHz
  • Channel 3 - 143.350 MHz
  • Channel 4 - 138.850 MHz
  • Channel 5 - 143.250 MHz
  • Channel 6 - 138.750 MHz
