WHAS is a 50,000 watt Class-A AM broadcast (MW) station on 840 KiloHertz (kHz) operating 24-hours a day from a transmitter site near Louisville, Kentucky. The transmitter is a Harris DX-50. The radiation pattern is omnidirectional from a single tower. The station has confirmed reports of being heard as far away as New Zealand. WHAS is owned by Clear Channel Communications.
