WBIG was a shortwave pirate active during the 90s and the early part of the 00s. The operator was known as Big Mike, presumably because of his great height. Program material was rock music; the station's theme was "Mexican Radio", by Wall of Voodoo. The transmitter was reportedly a Grenade. Big Mike has said that he visited the transmitter site of Radio Metallica Worldwide, verifying that it transmitted with at least 10,000 watts.
