Undercover Radio 6925 FM *0205 UTC 2Jan14
« on: January 02, 2014, 0210 UTC »
On now in FM, around S9+5 here

Yep, you're right Dr. Benway; voice is fine, music is, well...

Sounds a bit better now that I turned off the noise blanker here.

Thanks!

6925 FM Undercover Radio, 0207, 1.2.14.  Dr. Benway came on with talk, music, then adjusted to narrow band FM with ID and tune.  Off 0211

Back at 0215 with music.

Talk was OK, but music is weak now.

Weakening signal.

Thanks for the shout out Dr. Benway.

Greetings for New Year, ID, 0238 off.

Started out at S7-S8, recognized it was FM but still had a difficult time
clearing up the voice audio, no problem with the music though.

02:17 utc better on the voice now..had to open up the BW some..

2:21 utc seeing some S9 peaks now, much more clear voice audio on S9 peaks, Steve Miller Band sounded OK
but audio frequency response was thin.

2:30 utc  Much more distortion of the voice audio at the lower power setting, S6 - S7 max here.

2:41 utc  Looks like 15 khz BW now, improved the fidelity of the music a bit but
still no lower frequencies, check , my sub woofer is on but not moving, Steely Dan "FM".

Back on, trying it again @ 0216, playing "In the Crossfire".
Sounding very good at times, as long as the signal stays above S7.
Back on again after 0230, at reduced power, still sounding good, signal S7 to S9.
And on again @ 0240, playing "FM" by Steely Dan... (this may be a different station).

Undercover Radio in FM mode right now, S6-S7, audio coming through is a bit "thin" but good signal.  Audio went wider midway through the canned ID at 0222z.

Signal holding up the mode fairly well right now.

Doctor, Sir,

Your voice sounds better than the music, but your voice is clipped, too.

Or maybe my R8 isn't receiving well.  My first SW FM reception!

Thanks,

Just tuned in and listening to a nice S5-S7 signal. Has good modulation and to me the music seems okay, but then again I believe that I'm tone deaf.
Still getting a S5 signal at 0229z.

Dr. Benway on FM, S9+10 into NH - about 90% full quieting

Not the typical Benway  hi-fi but that might be my radio... I've only used it on FM with 10 meter repeaters and British CB'ers so I don't know what it's capable of.

0227z ID, Testing on FM - undercoverradio@gmail.com
0229z Off "abruptly", and back... (less power at 100w, still S9 here)
0230z Pushing the limit of the gear so shutting down...
