Ironically, just as I tried to confirm a reply to Commander Bunny's I SHUT DOWN THE HF UNDERPANTS! thread, the FRN was temporarily down, confirmed via the Down For Everyone Or Just Me? web utility.

I'm inclined to believe the theory of a fellow on IRC the other day who said that while Camping's flock may have been left behind, it appears some web servers were raptured.

You know, neither of these two unfortunate outages had to happen. The solution is just one word: QNX.

I just saw a news flash that said 24 people are dead from a tornado in Joplin, MO. I believe that the FRN server is in Joplin, so the outage may be related to the bad weather there.

You are correct, that is where it is.  If this is from infrastructure damage, (cable down) it could be down for days....

Yes, FRN is based in Joplin, MO. I think whether or not the FRN server is running pales in comparison to the 89+ people killed there. John Cruzan, who set up the FRN, has never been involved in any of this infighting, and has done an awful lot for pirate radio over the years, lives in Joplin.

These people's lives are a lot more serious than a cheap joke about whose server is down. I know that trying to keep pirates from fighting is like trying to restore peace to the Middle East, but could you give it a break for a day or so?

Of course I hope John and his loved ones are Ok, and that he wasn't right in the path of this. The loss of life and property there is a terrible thing.

If I had any idea at the time, I would not have named the thread as I initially did.
I have changed it.
