I love this station. I have a hard time copying it from my QTh though, usually just a carrier. I use Twente for this one. Having said that, imagine my dismay(or rage) to find that All India Radio uses the 11715 for their ever popular Nepali service...in DRM. Lots of goat herders in the Himalayan valleys tuning in DRM I would imagine. The AIR DRM runs until 2:30 & RAE english is somewhat audible in LSB. during that time. I think DRM should have a special bandplan to avoid this kind of thing. RAE is such a friendly old school type of station. It is an actual shortwave program & not just a relay of an FM or MW station like lots of others are (Kuwait,Oman & China come to mind). They also have really cool tango music. If you haven't listened to RAE's English program I recommend it. They are on 11710.75 from 2:00 to 3:00 UTC weekdays.

2:50z 6/20/13   While waiting on my front porch for pizza delivery & listening to the crystal ship I tried for RAE's English program & it was coming in well.About S6 on ATS909x with 90 foot L shaped random wire. I hadn't really tried for them in a while other than via remotes.

RAE always a good listen!  I wonder why they are always off frequency, maybe their transmitter
is crystal controlled?  Will have to write to them again, it's been about 35 years since I QSLed
them... ;)  listening right now at 0210, Om talking about the cold winter weather, into nice vocal by OM with guitar.
no DRM QRM thank God.

I heard them earlier tonight on 11710 (0230-0302 when I tuned out), not a great copy, though....

Their news reader almost sounded like he was ad libbing the news.... Very relaxed presentation....

News was from Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil.... Several RAE ID's.  Nice samba piece that sounded like Jobim.

Hadn't heard them in a long time.
An AM radio Boombox DXer.
+ GE SRIII, PR-D5 & TRF on MW.
The usual Realistic culprits on SW (and a Panasonic).
