You probably are aware WCBS is one of 2 all news stations (old motto: "You give us 22 minutes and we'll give you the news." 8 minutes of commercial per half hour) in NYC but the one that propagates better. Outside of being the flagship station for the Mets, they are live news 24 hours a day. Yesterday at 2330 UTC, I am spinning the dial around and WCBS is carrying Compass Media's network coverage of Buffalo at Philadelphia. Puzzling programing, as WCBS has never broadcasted the Jets, Giants, or any NFL action - so you wouldn't naturally seek them out for a NFL broadcast.
My thought is that sister station/Giant flagship WFAN was broadcasting the post game program from the Pats/Giants travesty (the video from that game is
NOT going to Canton), so they bumped Bills/Eagles from a normal WFAN transmission to WCBS. (You give us 22 minutes and we'll give you defensive holding reviews")
