Ion Radio 6880 AM 2106 UTC 24 JUL 2024
« on: July 24, 2024, 2106 UTC »
Very good reception, minor fades.  Thanks for bringing sparkle to yet another dreary, damp southern New England summer day - glad I planted rice this year.   ;D ;)
2106 Music,  "This is Ion Radio on AM mode on Shortwave" several times
2107 "My One and Only Love" Alfonso Gugliucci
2111 Ion ID, getting very noisy
2112 Under noise floor
2115 Faint ID just above noise floor to traces of music
2118 Enough music over noise floor to ID "Snoopy's Search" Billy Cobham
2121 "Little Walter Rides Again" Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, reception now good with fades/noise
2125 SSTV
Thanks for broadcast - time for dinner.

Listening via the Fair Hill, Maryland, SDR. Fair to good signal, but it's noisy today ...

2138 UTC: "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" by Miles Davis.
2141 UTC: "Watermelon Man" by Herbie Hancock. There may have been a quick station ID right before the song.
2148 UTC: SSTV transmission. I was able to partially decode the image, which included "ION."
2150 UTC: "Where's the Music" by Medeski, Martin & Wood.
2154 UTC: Female-voiced "ION Radio" ID, "Cucumber Slumber" by Weather Report.
2201 UTC: "Sure Shot" by Kari Denson's Tiny Universe.
2202 UTC: Female-voiced ION Radio ID, gave an email address, and announced signoff.
2204 UTC: Signal off.

Thanks for the afternoon (I'm on the West Coast) jazz!
