Via a recording.  A drum beating at 0000, then The Outer Limits opening sequence and a bit of instrumental music that ended abruptly at 0003.  And all was quiet.

The Elad's noise blanker dug it out of the local, late afternoon, broad band noise.  Whodathought?

Sorry, I switched time zones.  "0000" was UTC.  "late afternoon" was subjective, sitting at my desk looking out the window at EST.
