6678 kHz USB French Language Comms 1730 UTC 28 Jan 2025
« on: January 28, 2025, 1736 UTC »
Received via the G8JNJ SDR (KiwiSDR 1) or Wessex SDR.  Lots of activity on the bands in the 1630 UTC - 1700 UTC - 1730 UTC ballpark.

Causing some QRM to 6676 kHz USB 6.676 MHz USB VOLMET frequency broadcast SEA 1 frequency 6676 USB.  6678 kHz is much stronger at this receive location.  Operators talking about antenna types, typical radio operator type chatter.  I'm logging this because they're using USB instead of the more commonly used LSB on the 6.6 MHz EC band Echo Charlie band or 45 meter band.

For example, there's a lot of activity on 6666 kHz LSB, 6650 kHz LSB, 6645 kHz LSB, 6640 kHz LSB and 6633 kHz LSB, just to name a few.  French language chatter on 6757 kHz USB as well.

There's more freebander activity than legit aeronautical comms on the 6525 kHz - 6765 kHz band.

U.S. East Coast, various HF/VHF/UHF radios/transceivers/scanners/receivers - land mobile system operator - focus on VHF/UHF and 11m
