Switched to doing CQUAM AM Stereo.  Regular receivers seem to not have the same sort of issues.  Interesting experiments.

I understand. Ideally, nothing happens in life, I think it will do for a homemade transmitter. Although you can also try to adjust the high and low frequencies so that there is no audio choking.

I think it's sort of a flaw of the Kahn AM stereo system.  Or...at least in my implementation and/or understanding of it.  The trick is to get both LSB and USB not to destructively interfere when shoved through an envelope detector.  The CQUAM system doesn't have these problems, it seems.  It also doesn't have as good stereo separation, IMHO.  CQUAM was a lot easier implement, too!
