Sycko Radio 6935 AM 0015 UTC 7 MAR 2025
« on: March 07, 2025, 0017 UTC »
Fair signal in New England with peskies on the LSB.  SINPO 32333.
Some FMing very noticable,   Per Nitroengine below, not FMing, it's the pilot tones for the stereo. That explains the beat tones I hear and the distortion.

0015 - Guitar rock
0018 - Blues

Side note: It looks like Stern Radio has closed down. At one point before they closed, there were four AM stations on at once. What's the occasion, other than it's Thursday?  ;D

0037  - "Check, check, check. Hello radioland." ID

Pretty good reception via the Atwater, Ohio, SDR ...

0021 UTC: Instrumental blues played on electric guitar.
0023 UTC: Rock-heavy blues instrumental.
0027 UTC: Rockin' blues instrumental song.
0030 UTC: Another guitar-led blues rock song.
0034 UTC: Another guitar blues rock song. Increasing noise levels are starting to swallow this signal.
0037 UTC: OM saying "check, check, check" and something else over the music. When the song ended, OM on mic gave Sycko Radio ID, said he's trying out the AM transmitter in near-stereo with about 100 watts.
0039 UTC: Back to the guitar blues music.

Rock/Blues music. Pretty weak in and out of the noise floor. Carrier at 6934.980.

I see a 25Hz tone, possibly doing C-QUAM AM stereo. Tough to tell audibly being so weak here.

0041 utc: Coming up better at the moment, close to S7. Sounding pretty good.

0219 utc: Signed off with the SSB. Thanks for the show.
