ADDITIONAL: I certainly would not take this as gospel ruling today, since Part 19 CB is now, Part 95. And, I believe that voice COMM's are no longer allowed on those in-between channels, a.k.a., 3A, 5A, 7A, 15A, and 19A, but meant for paging and IMS use. Still, a neat look-back.

Yeah, I was the one who posted that, just came across it for the first time yesterday. A couple things that jumped out at me:

FICTION—The same interpretations as above apply to the construction of Part 15 equipment. You must execute a certificate which specifies (1) operating conditions under which the equipment is to be used, (2) the antenna to be used with the device, and (3) a statement that the unit complies with Part 15 requirements

WHAT? You could certify your own equipment?? - I don't think so, they must have been referring to compliance.

Anyway, the magazine focus is on Part 15 CB broadcasting,  but it does have a full page part 15 AM transmitter ad..

One day I'm going to begin writing a book, maybe sooner than later. Over the last 6-7 years I have turned up so much history of part 15 AM and it use since 1938 that nary a single year passed without some fascinating stories found in newspapers and magazines and Unknown FCC documentations.

I have never seen mention of most any of the history I've compiled found anywhere else on the net or elswhere (unless scouring through old newspapers and magazines online). Its damb near an entirely unknown story - Because no one else has ever researched it (although theres lots of history of Part 15 in general, but it's from such a different perspective that it never even touches the story of Part 15 AM.

If I ever get started it might start to flow, but I've never wrote anything before other than perhaps some sloppy blog post! But a in-depth 87 year history .. Wow, that's daunting. But I think I really need to do it

I'm still kind of stumped over if users could actually certify their own part 15 equipment in 1964 like the handbook seems to say..

But l think they actually meant compliance.. but I'm not entirely sure ....
