77LJS 6930 USB 2200 UTC 12 SEP 2025
« on: September 12, 2025, 2200 UTC »
S5-S7ish signal heard via the Lodi, New York, SDR with pretty good audio that's staying above today's noise levels ...

2300 UTC: "Alice in Wonderland (Take 2)" by the Bill Evans Trio.
2307 UTC: Usual host with 77LJS ID, mentioning he's testing another antenna array, and then giving HFU shout-outs.
2308 UTC: "All of You" by Bill Evans.
2310 UTC: Host said something that I didn't catch all of, but I think he's switching to another antenna. Before the pause, the signal's been fading out, down to S3 at times, the past few minutes at the Lodi, New York, SDR.
2316 UTC: Off momentarily to switch antennas bypass the tuner, then "Gloria's Step (Take 2)" by Bill Evans Trio. The signal's more solid, up past S5+ for now.
2319 UTC: Host broke in to explain the antenna's the same, he just bypassed the tuner.
2324 UTC: Host broke into the next song, "Jade Visions (Take 2)" by Bill Evans Trio, to explain his antenna experiment. This signal's sinking again down to S3 as the noise rises.
2333 UTC: Host back on the mic with a shout-out; he's still audible above the noise, but reception continues to deteriorate overall.

Thanks for the evening jazz (afternoon jazz where I'm sitting on the West Coast), 77LJS!
