WDEF 6966 USB 0113 UTC 9 OCT 2025
« on: October 09, 2025, 0114 UTC »
S7ish signal heard via the Cape May County, New Jersey, SDR with good audio that was staying well over moderate background noise levels ...

0114 UTC: "Slip Kid" by The Who.
0117 UTC: Clip of a man saying "Are you relaxed?" into "Hava Nagila" cover by Harry Belafonte.
0120 UTC: Start of an episode of "The Adventures of Philip Marlowe" radio drama. I'm thinking this is WDEF.
0134 UTC: The "Philip Marlowe" episode's still going; Philip just knocked out a guy and is trying to find out the fate of Norma Delaney.
* * * * *
0230 UTC: Came home from walking our dog to hear a Morse code ID and then music play, but the signal's way down in the noise now.

Thanks, WDEF, for the music and drama!

0119 S9 sounding good into NYC with little fading.
All reports given are direct from my station in NYC.
Main toys are a Flex 3000 SDR, Icom 756 Pro II and other assorted odds & ends. They may be older, but work very well for me.

SDR recording catch. I had a good signal for about ten minutes, then the signal started to fade. Mostly gone by 0145 UTC.
