A returning college station that went AM Carrier-Current ops? Apparently...

https://radio.uni.edu/        Huh... I wasn't even looking for this station. Instead, I was doing a search for whatever station was jamming-out modern AOR tunage on 1440kHz AM, Saturday night / Sunday morning, at 06:00UTC. Heard no ID's, promos, PSA's, commercials, etc. So, did a FREQ search on Radio Locator. Did I find what I was looking for? Not really, but was kind of surprised to see listed under 'Unlicensed" and "Carrier-Current Station", that Radio UNI. HUH??? Now, you do a search for that, and I don't see it listed. (A fluke???) But anyway, I read that this college station had an LPFM license, lost that, then came back unlicensed as a Carrier-Current AM station. The pages on this site take a bit to load-up. However, if this is true about them, then neat to see that a college would fall-back to AM Carrier-Current means of getting back on-air.

That university station had actually began in 1955, apparently a part15AM free-radiate operation which evolved and expanded to a carrier-current operation in 1969. Their Licensed FM station began in 2003 in conjunction with their carrier current: You can find a timeline of the station here

However the same page seems to imply the station is now exclusively an online stream, it's not clear if the carrier-current is still in operation or not.

I'm curious why the Radio Locator link you provided says "Station Owner:
Alaska Broadcast Communications, Inc."
