Very good reception for the 5,000 watt Catholic station to my qth 125 miles away.  Not unusual for distance, nor wattage, but rather a local station (WMRD Middletown, CT - 8 miles away) on frequency, which would over ride WWDJ, has been off air since severe rain/wind storms rolled through this afternoon - not sure if it power or antenna related.

2248 Celluar commercial, Christmas sale ad using "O Holy Night"
2251 OM talking about living God-like with another OM on phone, "Praise God"
2253 Must be syndicated religious program, OM caller from California giving opinion to Father Chris
(According to website, this is The Drew Martini Show)

Hey Yankee,

Interesting report. If it was antenna related they might have some BIG problems.

Is the CT  WLIS related  in any way to the old  SW pirate W e L ove I nterval  S ignals  ? :)

Up here it's not technical problems , it "format follies " on 1470. They played around with dropping their  great music format.. They went Christian Spanish  for maybe a week but went back to the music .Maybe the guy didn't pay his bill .

it's better than a while back when 1470 would be  dead air or OFF air for days at a time. 1470 has a BIG signal here.

Funny but no, W L ong I sland S ound - Old Saybrook is at the mouth of the Connecticut River as it enters the Sound.  The Connecticut River is the longest river (410 miles) in the US without a major city at its mouth

Hey Yankee,

I have had a couple  on 1420 ,but not 'LIS.

Log looks like BSM MA , BEC MA and MAYBE COJ PA.

Interesting re CT River. I have crossed the river on the train or  Rte 95 sporadically  over the years and never really thought about it.
