Thunder Chicken Radio 6930/6926 LSB and/or USB 2132 UTC 27 MAR 2026
« on: March 27, 2026, 2132 UTC »
2132: music "What Happens Next" - Joe Satriani
[2-3]5343
2135: silent abruptly
2136: audio resumes, switching back and forth USB/LSB
2139: QSY 6930 LSB
2141: now 6930 USB

Screw this. Make up your mind and maybe you'll have some listeners. Gonna listen to some static instead.

Well, it's come to this: It's midnight and I'm listening to a heavy metal cover version of "The Wheels On The Bus Go Round and Round" on pirate short wave radio on Sternradio. Is life great, or what!?

S9+ signal and good audio heard via the SDR in Presque Isle, Wisconsin ...

2148 UTC: "Working Man (Vault Edition)" by Rush.
2152 UTC: Sped-up gibberish speaking, then the male operator came on the mic and apologized for the earlier frequency and mode switches. Might be Thunder Chicken.
2153 UTC: "Distant Early Warning" by Rush.

2200 just tuned in
2200 Rush - Dreamline

signal is about a 2 to 3 out of 10 on the Shrewsbury VT KiwiSDR, unable to ID music

2208 I switched to Traverse City Michigan signal 5 to 6 out of 10, lots of noise
unable to Id song, lots of drumming

2215 New song came on, but I was unable to figure it out, sounds like Pink Floyd
I figured out the problem, the frequency is off and is actually 6939.96 kHz USB

2221 Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (Live)
2228 Primus - My Name Is Mud
2232 Waterfall art of a CHICKEN!
2232 Primus - Southbound Pachyderm
2239 Primus - Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver
2244 SSTV (darn, I didn't record it at the start to decode)
2246 Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime
