UNID 11870 AM 1640 UTC 26 MAY 2026

Hello,

I am receiving an unidentified station on 11870.00 kHz AM/SAM.

I am located in central Italy, on the Adriatic side.

The station is not listed in the usual schedules, and the programming does not sound like a regular shortwave broadcaster. It is transmitting continuous disco / techno / dance music.

The signal is audible but noisy. If there is any voice announcement or ID, it is probably covered by the background noise.

We have already checked the possibility of a phantom frequency, SDR overload, or local saturation, but so far the carrier appears stable and correctly centered on 11870.00 kHz.

Has anyone else heard this signal on 11870 kHz, or does anyone have any information about it?

Update:

I checked several KiwiSDRs in central Europe, the UK, and southern Italy, but I could not find any clear reception of the signal there. In most cases, not even the carrier was visible.

Here in central Italy the signal on 11870.00 kHz AM is sometimes quite strong when the fading is not present. The carrier is stable and centered, and the audio sounds like continuous disco/techno/dance music.

The only remaining doubt I have is whether this could possibly be Zeppelin Radio, or another Greek/European station, but I have no confirmation.

Any additional information would be appreciated.

Final update:

I think I may have recorded a possible station ID or announcement.

The signal is noisy and affected by fading, so I cannot understand it clearly myself. If anyone can listen to the audio sample and recognize the ID, language, slogan, or station name, it could be very useful for identifying this transmission.

Any help with the audio would be greatly appreciated.
