Hi all,

Indie dev, long-time lurker, and (to my wife's dismay) radio junkie. I usually keep to myself and keep quiet online, but I'm reaching out because I build Demod, a native iPhone/iPad receiver for KiwiSDR / SpyServer / rtl_tcp (RTL-SDR.com covered the launch here https://www.rtl-sdr.com/demod-an-ios-ipados-client-for-rtl_tcp-spyserver-and-kiwisdr/). It has a built-in browser of public receivers, so it runs on a live signal in under a minute with no hardware.

I wanted to post here too, specifically because the new "Identify" feature measures whatever you're tuned to on-device (bandwidth, deviation, envelope, FSK shift), checks band plans and the HFCC shortwave schedule against the receiver's location and the UTC hour, and takes a stab at naming what you're tuned to. I tried to make it as honest as possible about uncertainty, showing its evidence where possible. I'd genuinely like this group to try to break it and tell me where it's wrong. There's also on-device live transcription + translation of the audio. Most importantly, the app collects no data, exfils nothing, and is standalone to your device.

$9.99, solo project. Happy to PM promo codes to anyone who wants a look.
