Radio Nacional Brazil 6188.2 kHz
« on: August 10, 2008, 1034 UTC »
6188.2 kHz AM, 8/10/08, 0900-1000 UTC.  Carrier centered around 6188.2 for a few hours before 0900 UTC without audible signal; sudden improvement in signal strength after 0900 UTC.  Several IDs as Radio Nacional and Brazil, unknown whether this is Amazonia.  From 0900-1000 UTC, mix of pop music with lively chatter from male announcer and what sounded like phone call.  After 1000 UTC female announcer with what sounded like Sunday morning religious programming.  SINPO - 44333.  (N. Central TX)

This off-frequency problem appears to have been fixed as of this past weekend (8/16/08).  Brazil is back to duking it out with a Spanish language station on 6185, with both swapping signal strength between 0800-0900 UTC, after which time Brazil tends to dominate.  (N. Central TX)

The other spanish station is Radio Educacion Mexico on 6.185khz. Both mix quite well. Here in Los Angeles the Brazilian dominates most of the time.
