The FCC Enforcement Bureau and pirate radio are the topics of the day, as Prof. John Anderson of Brooklyn College joins us to discuss the broadcast industry’s furor over the Commission’s plans to ratchet down its resident field agent presence around the country. We also tackle the FCC’s $100 million fine levied against AT&T, House Republican efforts to kill net neutrality using the power of the purse, and President Obama entering Marc Maron’s garage for an episode of the WTF podcast.
As usual, Jennifer Waits gives us a college radio update–with some bonus high school radio stories, including one about Judd Apatow's scholastic broadcasting days. Finally, Matthew Lasar gives us a short lesson in American cultural history as part of his proposal for “hybrid hybrow” radio.
