OR its state of health

While hiking the other day I heard the letter R on my ka 1102 and nothing again...
I got and e mail yesterday saying that OR was sending O and then 21 seconds later R...
I also got another confirmation on OR this morning from a listener down in AZ...

I don't know exactly what its problem is...however its solar panel is probably  covered with snow
and generally the battery craps out and OR is no more until spring...

Time will tell...

The Colorado 8Mc beacons are set up in a fashion that the snow can not build up against the panel
and lay there all winter...it will generally melt do to the high solar intensity and the snow
melts off the panel and slips off the boulder the panel stands upon...

Just got an email from OR operator...
OR has a new battery and is keying properly...
