Radio Bandeirantes Brazil - Shut down it's operation
« on: October 01, 2015, 1632 UTC »
The Radio Bandeirantes founded in 1937 in São Paulo (Brazil) is no longer operating on shortwave (6090 and 9645 kHz) due to financial difficulties. Some staff were laid off in August, including members of the Sports News department (which is a substantial part of Bandeirantes programming).
11925 kHz has been inactive for several month now. This is sad news, as Rádio Bandeirantes has operated for many decades and been an important part of Brazilian broadcasting on shortwave.
