Weird., didn't see anything about enforcement of RFI emissions in that document.
Around here, would go a long way in protecting the AM radio band (amongst other bands).
Well here in the Tipp City/ Troy region of Ohio AM radio is next to worthless, even the 'big boys' (10-50KW) don't have a prayer at full quieting here... of course Dayton is just a few miles to the west of me and the noise there is simply unbelievable ...
As an example, WHIO AM in Dayton... The only way I can get a decent signal from them is to move the radio around so the Ferrite bar antenna is right on them but the average listener isn't going to do that because who wants the AM radio sideways on the entertainment center? It just doesn't look right and it is a very little matter to switch the receiver to FM and get WHIO FM perfectly.
In the area I live in, with dozens of apartments around me, the electrical feed line is underground but that does little to reduce the noise an crud that comes from the above ground power cables within easy walking distance from me.
This so called revitalization order is just so much BS...
And don't get me going on the 'Part 15' devices that radiate a signal that propagates for miles and miles. Plastics heaters that heat using RF are the absolute worse case for me.... grrrrrrrrrr....
When the power companies get an interference report guess what kind of receiver they use.... yep, you guessed it an FM radio... never an AM radio. Why? I the words of a lineman I talked to; "No one used AM any more when they can listen to FM..." and for the most part he is right!
I suspect that FM listeners are getting rare because of MP3 players, wifi etc etc... Most stations with less of a market share...
I could go on but I know you folks know exactly what I am saying...
Have a great day and a better tomorrow!!
