When the State of Maine re-introduced turkeys to the wild many windshields were taken out but the low flying birds. Wild turkeys can fly but the type that are raised, the white ones, cannot.
My lawn at the QTH in Maine often had a large flock of the wild turkeys on it in the morning. They would get a good run on my lawn, run across the road, and launch themselves into the pine tree branches about 20 feet in the air.
I never cared much for the birds because they would to the doodoo on the lawn and my girls would complain about the mess. I also had large groups of Deer come down on the lawn in the very early morning but their doodoo isn't wet and messy
