AIR Gangtok 4835 - Rare Reception

As posted last night, the ABC regionals on 4835, 2325 and 2485 are all off air. This has left a vacant channel for the much weaker All India Radio regional outlet at Gangtok to appear, as noted by Ron Howard, Timm Breyel and myself. While the ABC remains off-air (and who knows for how long....), see if you can catch Gangtok. I have posted a full report on my blog if you're interested!

Aug 31 @ 1015 UT - ABC VL8A 4835 kHz is still off air. Perhaps another chance for others to hear Gangtok?

SIKKIM. 4835, AIR Gangtok (presumed), 1310-1410 UTC on
Aug 31. Second consecutive day of AIR reception here, made
possible by the continued absence of ABC Alice Springs NT;
segment of distinctive subcontinent music/singing 1338-1340,
with the remainder of the time mostly just announcers; 1406
seemed to be phone conversation and brief singing. My music
audio today at  goo.gl/ffxBrc  . Wonderful to be able to hear
them in the clear!
