Heard this again last night (weak but definitely in there) at 0215z, but when I checked later (around 0500) I no longer copied it.

I'm often surprised when I hear it, and surprised when I don't.  I can't seem to predict just when I'll hear it.

Is this a night time only beacon?  This morning (19 Nov 2016) I was recording it and it turned off at 1243:37 UTC.  Signal was there, not strong but at least 7 or 8 dB above the noise floor, and then it was gone, no fade out.  I watched for about 10 minutes and no return.

I did notice another signal that could be a beacon, but might not be, on 4072 kHz.  It is a 3.75 second dash sent every 6.1 seconds.  There is a second part to this signal, at the end of each dash the signal pauses for 0.22 sec and then shifts freq to 4071.93 kHz, and sends a very short dit, about 0.14 sec long.  I can't think of a digital signal that matches these parameters with any pilot tones or that kind of thing, so if it is a resting digital signal I don't know what it is.

Nov 29  1150 utc I was sitting in the shack and heard a very nice signal from the 4070 beacon....
Still can't hear any of the cluster 4096 group because of the strong carrier I have on 4096...but it is nice to hear
another beacon...X must have crapped out where ever it was...I still listen down on 3450 Khz for OK it has been years since I
have heard it...

Dec 3  time 1100 Utc very steady copy not moving the s meter but non the less good copy...
Since only a few have heard this beacon it must be a very low power one 100 Mw or even less...

I sent an e mail to someone that might know something about this beacon.  His response was,
"nothing known at this time",  he did not think it was in the SW desert area.

Still no copy on the 4096 group.  A is in there every night...

Weak copy of 4070 this morning at 1118z. And I heard A earlier this morning. Nothing from the 4096 cluster here in ages, either. Shorty is doing well on 7998.
