17770   SRI LANKA. AWR - Trincomalee. In the scheduled Isan language at 1325 with alternating announcers. A quick spasm of SAs instrumental music and then suddenly off-air at 1328. Weak signal, Sept 18. Isan is the collective name for the dialects of the Lao language as spoken in Thailand. It is spoken by around 20 million people in northeastern Thailand and in Laos. The sound of Isan is very similar to Lao.
